This is a bigger view of the schoolroom/dining room. The only evidence this might be a dining room is the curio cabinet and the light. I've also added another table which you can't see. It's a white square table which can fold diagonally in half to be a triangular table. I got it at IKEA along with two matching chairs. I decided to have two tables so I could separate my older son from the other two. It has helped a lot but he still gets distracted sometimes. The second picture is of our infamous library bag. Every Friday we go to the library and check out anywhere between 30-40 books. I don't know how much the bag weighs but I can barely carry it when I bring it in. My daughter has a knack for finding a lot of books and just sneaking them in the bag while I'm not looking. The staff at the library has gotten used to us by now. It's actually kind of fun seeing them every week. Last week I had to own up to my dog's destruction of two books. I brought in the ripped and torn pieces and had to write out a check for about $50. Ouch. I think the dog's been jealous that we've started school. One day I'll get one of those rolling carts for all the books. But until then I'll just have to get used to my sore shoulder. I love books.

Neat posts/pics of your "schoolroom", Meredith! Beautiful cabinet. And that is one huge bookbag! Enviable MOTH chart. (I'm glad you adjusted it to your own style. May you have wonderful success. And I agree about the novelty wearing off and just needing to keep after the kidlies part.) Oh, and $50.00...eeeek. I'm sorry about that. :( Have a great schoolyear! :)
Thanks Ruthanne. I was just about to log off and go to bed. Don't ask me what time it is! It's nice to hear from you. I'm impressed with all that's going at your house with all the projects. Your oldest son is really getting a real life education isn't he. I'm sure he's maturing in lots of ways. Very exciting.
Blessings to you. How's the pregnancy going? I'll say a prayer for you tonight as I go to bed.
What a beautiful room, Meredith...I love it.

Great schoolroom, nice and orderly. We school in ours too...only still working on the order. ;)
That's a mighty big book bag...yikes about the books. Does your library let you trade? I traded in dvd's and videos that were in great shape but we decided to pare down and they wrote off my fines. Phew...I have had many over the years.
That's a good idea about the trade in thing, I'll have to ask. The problem is that our library is switching more and more to DVDs and I would like to get rid of a lot of VHS.
Blessings on your schooling!

Where are you? I mean, I know where you are, but where are you in cyberspace? It's been two weeks.....you could make a great post out of Wed. night dinner table conversation!
