OK, OK, I ADMIT IT...
I'm a wimp. After 10 years in the South, I've succumbed to calling a 50 degree day cold. I really am ashamed. I lived through the blizzard of '76 in Milford, MA. My father had to start digging after opening the garage door. I lived in New Hampshire where there was hardly a snow day. I walked almost a mile to the bus stop when it was snowing. I lived on the shores of Lake Michigan and suffered through the biting wind that made you cry and almost made your eyeballs freeze. Did I like that weather? Of course not, except for the beauty of freshly fallen snow. But I'm proud to say that I learned to live through it. Somehow, in the past ten years, my blood has thinned and I now start to agree with the local weatherman when he says that temperatures in the 30s are bone-chilling cold! Can you believe it? It's official - I'm a wimp.

THAT is hilarious!
Fun post, Meredith.
I agree with Karen! :)
I've lived in the Northwest all my life and I would have to say that an wheather that is not "mild" is hard to suffer through! :) I always look forward to the changes but then when they come I am shocked at how I dislike the really hot (90's) or the really cold (20's)
I'm a wimp too!
Last night my Mom was asking me about the weather here, I said it was like a "perpetual smile, constantly blue skies and very dry (even in the 70's yesterday), it's great for vacation but for everday living I need variety!!" She laughed at me!! Sorry to whine, but we've only been here 4 months, I'm quite used to the rain. :)
My oldest just told me she couldn’t wait for it to snow. Oh to be young and not have to think about chaining tires in that cold wet stuff:}
Jenni, welcome to you!
I think we're just never satisfied. It's like Goldilocks. It's either too hot or too cold. I wonder what temperature it will be in heaven? Just right, I suspect.
oh, how funny. deep in the heart of texas, we call our wet, 40 degree days, "bonechilling," as if they are deadly! we lived in arkansas for one year, a couple of yrs ago, and had our first snow as a family ever. it was actually powdery. in texas, we close schools and universities because no one knows how to drive on the ice. and you can forget winterizing your car. the weathermen briefly touch on it, but it is usually in the 60's on christmas day. we do laugh at ourselves, though, because we are the real wimps! :)
From your neighbor in Alabama, I concur!
We've been in GA for 5.5 years now and my blood has totally thinned! Yet, I still long for snow :( Love your blog!
