ODE TO A NEW SHOWER
I'm not very good at writing any kind of poetry or prose so I'll just say this -- I adored our new shower with it's perfectly set tiles, spotless grout, clear glass sliders and chrome fixtures until I had to clean it. Mr. Clean Shower just does not cut it my friends. We're talking about elbow grease, Windex and Scrubbing Bubbles. But isn't it great when you're done and can look on your finished work with a great sense of accomplishment? Until the next week :)
PRESCRIPTION FOR A HORMOTIONAL WOMAN
Sunday was a roller coaster of emotions but as I cried out to the Lord instead of crying at my husband, He led me to a hymn by Fanny Crosby that I'd never heard of. Here's what calmed the storm --
HE HIDETH MY SOUL
A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
A wonderful Savior to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
Where rivers of pleasure I see.
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.
A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord -
He taketh my burden away;
He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved,
He giveth me strength as my day.
With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,
And, filled with his fullness divine,
I sing in my rapture,"O glory to God
For such a Redeemer as mine!"
When clothed in His brightness transported I rise,
To meet Him in clouds of the sky,
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love,
I'll shout with the millions on high.
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.
P.S. Godiva Belgian Dark Chocolate ice cream helped some too! Gotta have some chocolate.

There is nothing like a sparkling clean bathroom to lift my spirits! I know it must be worth all your elbow grease.
Cleaning the bathroom - Ugh! Not my favoire task. I just noticed a little pink color growing in the left corner of the shower last night. I'll take this to be a gentle reminder to clean the shower today.
Godiva Belgian Dark Chocolate ice cream, mmmm! I've never had any but it sure sounds delicious:)
One word for you, Mere: KABOOM! Being a bathroom-cleaning-wimp, I LOVE Kaboom! You spray it all over the shower, walk away, and 3 minutes later, a sponge or washcloth is all you need to get the nastiest stuff up! I just did it last night. Love it.
Must be shower-cleanin' time for many of us!
'Lis - Next time you come over, we'll have some Godiva ice cream. It's my guilty pleasure. The Belgian dark chocolate is incredible.
Meredith - it was well worth it until I saw some spots on the shower door this morning! Oh well, I guess I need to remind myself of Flylady's advice - "Even imperfectly done houseword will bless your family."
Lis - It's not my favorite task either Lis. It's right up there with another task I've been putting off, changing out wardrobes.
Karen - yet another thing we have in common! I tell you what, the first bite of that Godiva ice cream is like "Whoa!" Sometimes I can put away a whole pint of Haagen Dazs in one sitting (I'm embarrassed to admit) but not this stuff. I'm too afraid of what it would do to my body. LOL
Blessings.
