ON A LIGHTER NOTE

Tonight we hosted a neighborhood block party. We have a fairly small quiet subdivision and about half the neighbors came. Many had said they wanted to do a party and that there used to be parties. We had wanted to host one for a while now. It was exhausting but well worth it. Everyone had a lot of fun, kids and adults. I was blessed to be able to sit down for a long visit with another homeschool mom in the neighborhood. I found out that she owns a grain mill. This is something I've been interested in off and on for a couple years. She's going to be nice enough to let me try it out. Yeah!!!!

It's really great talking with someone who is of like mind. There are some pitfalls though. As we discussed our mutual distaste for the typical teen wardrobe and other pet peeves I found myself taking on an air of superiority. It's very hard for me to talk about certain hot topics without feeling myself slide into the land of arrogance. As one kindred spirit has admitted praying on her weblog --- "Lord show me my sin." It is the grace of our Father that He shows us our sins and even more, has provided a covering for them in the blood of His Son. Amen.
